Sausage Rolls in Air Fryer
Presentation
Perfect for lunch boxes, and for a quick snack on the go. With an oven the issue is often you have to warm up the entire oven and prepare a batch of 6-8 rolls to justify cooking them all. With the air fryer it is as simple as preparing one or two and rapidly cooking so you can turn them around in 20 minutes. Great if the little ones have come back from football practice and are after something to eat.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 sausage
- 80 g puff pastry
- Olive oil
Instructions
Preparation
- Start by placing a sheet of greaseproof paper on your workspace.
- Lay your pastry on the paper and position the sausage in the centre.
- Now cut the pastry so we have plenty of space to fold the pastry over the sausage.
- and cut again to divide the sausage rolls into individual pieces.
- Add some water and make a line down the side of the pastry, this will help the pastry stick when it is folded over.
- Now take each end of the pastry and carefully fold over the sausage aiming to keep reasonably snug to the sausage.
- Use your fingers, or a fork and crimp the pastry edges by pressing it head-ways all around.
- Optionally, brush the pastry with olive oil, salty water or egg yolks to give a nice colour when it is cooked.
- Sprinkle a small pinch of salt for that perfect seasoning.
- Pop your rolls into a preheated air fryer set to roast, optionally put atop grease proof paper.
- Cook at 180 degrees for 15 minutes. Afterward, remove the lid, transfer the roll to the tray without the greaseproof paper, and continue cooking for an extra 5 minutes.
- Allow it to cool for a bit before serving immediately or refrigerating for later, enjoy!"

Serving Suggestions
Air fryer sausage rolls are best enjoyed on their own, making them the perfect handheld snack for outdoor activities like picnics or hikes. Often at the weekend when we take the dog for a walk, we’ll bring some to have as a mini picnic. You can also enjoy them as a quick midday snack at work.Storage
